Fall Mushroom Hike

Sunday, September 7 – Fall Mushroom Hike at Hazelwood Lake; 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Join the LRCA and Dr. Leonard Hutchison of Lakehead University for our extremely popular mushroom identification program. We will meet at the Hazelwood Lake Conservation Area main parking lot at 10:00 a.m. and then make our way up to the picnic shelter. Our guest expert Dr. Leonard Hutchison of Lakehead University will lead us on a mushroom identification hike along the Forest Community Trail in search of all things fungi! Also joining us this year are two other local fungi experts, Benjamin Bohemier and Wren Mangelli! The event will run rain or shine (unless thunder and lightning, torrential downpour and/or unsafe winds), so DRESS APPROPRIATELY AND WEAR PROPER FOOTWEAR. Please note that typically harvesting of any kind in a Conservation Area is prohibited; however, it will be allowed for fungi during this event for identification purposes.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. First-come, first-served.

NOTE: Event dates, times and topics are subject to change and/or cancellation.

A NON-REFUNDABLE $5.00 registration fee is required for each participant to secure your spot.
