Birding for Beginners
***RESCHEDULED*** to Thursday, June 6 Thursday, May 23 – Birding 101 at LRCA Administrative Office; 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Are you curious about birds? Interested in learning their names and calls? If you are, you just might be a birder! This event is for anyone (kids and families welcome) wanting to learn more about the amazing world of birding. In our Multi-Purpose Room at the LRCA Administrative Office, you’ll learn how to identify birds by sight and sound, have the chance to ask all your questions about birds and birding, with and without the help of technology. Then, we will practice our birding skills along the nearby paved recreational trail. We will have binoculars and field guides at the event for you to try out, or feel free to bring your own!
* Come to this event on the bus! Bus stops are a 5 minute walk away.
* Our office is wheelchair accessible!

A NON-REFUNDABLE $5.00 registration fee is required for each participant to secure your spot.

- The LRCA will not be providing bussing or transportation of any kind. It is the participant’s responsibility to get themselves to and from the field trip location.
- By signing up for a program, you are agreeing to abide by the LRCA’s rules and safety measures, and you are agreeing to comply with any instruction from LRCA staff or expert guide.
- We appreciate your support, understanding, patience and cooperation.
Some other items to consider when planning on attending a Watershed Explorers Program:
- Dress appropriately for the weather
- Wear appropriate footwear
- Bring a hat
- Bring bug spray
- Bring sunscreen
- Bring water and a snack
- Programs run rain-or-shine (unless torrential downpour, thunder and lightning and/or unsafe winds)
- No dogs allowed on guided hikes
- Please remember that the expert guides we have arranged for these programs are volunteering their time and expertise. We are greatly appreciative of their commitment to sharing their knowledge with us.
