Seeds – Northern Blue Flag Iris

Iris versicolor

Direct sow in late fall or winter.  Can be spread on soil or snow November-February; manually till snow if a crust has formed to prevent seed from being blown away.

If starting indoors for spring planting, stratify seeds in a moist medium in the fridge for 4 months. Germinate indoors for 5 weeks before transplanting outdoors after the last frost. Moist to wet soil, full sun to part shade.
