Seeds – Common Milkweed
Asclepias syriaca
Direct sow in late fall or winter. Can be spread on soil or snow November-February; manually till snow if a crust has formed to prevent seed from being blown away.
If starting indoors for spring planting, stratify seeds in a moist medium in the fridge for 3-6 weeks. Germinate indoors before transplanting outdoors after the last frost. Plant outdoors in part shade to full sun. Dry to medium moisture soil. Sandy loam, loam.
